- Second_ChanceExplorer IIPlease get your terminology straight. The video clearly states "Class A" license. In Texas, this is an "exempt non-commercial license" and not a commercial license (CDL). This is true for most states that require a special license for GCVWRs over 26,001 lbs. Check out this list:
Requirements by state
Rob - ScottGNomadNeed to change title of thread. Totally misleading.
- stickdogExplorerJust move to a state that doesn't require an indorsement to tow over 26,000#s or a trailer over 10,000#s and forgetaboutit.
- 996PilotExplorerMight not be too bad for people to have to pass some high-weight/tow specific type of questions on a drivers test for a rig that heavy. I see people driving 40+ foot motorhomes with toads or giant duallys with 40'loaded toy haulers like they are driving a passenger car. Fact is in most states you can get your drivers license in a "Smart Car" (I use that term loosely) and then go drive a dually with a 40'fifth wheel the next day. Now that's a very scary thought for all of the rest of us out on the road.
- burningmanExplorer III think it's scary enough how some people drive in Smart cars!
