clean new style flat windows

Howdy,
we have a 2015 Jayco TT with those flat black windows. I think they may be a new material. We have not been able to get the spots off of them when we wash the trailers. We can get most of the spot off with rain x but they still remain.

Anyone else having this issue?

Thanx,
Tom
  • I use Meguiar's Water Spot Remover with a Harbor Freight random orbital polisher with the blue foam pad. Not a hard job and they will buff up like you wouldn't believe. No streaks either so do it right before your trip.
  • Try a mixture of water dawn and vinegar for hard water spots
Only thing I have found to work
    Great on shower doors too
  • I've used a magic eraser sponge with water to remove spots and stains on glass and windshields. Mr. Clean is one brand name. Fine enough to not scratch the glass.
  • Im guessing you mean frame less windows. If that's the case then normal window products on the outside should do the trick and drying with a chamois or similar product will prevent the hard water spots from forming. When I get them I just let it be....as Im gonna wash it again the next trip.

On the inside ensure the products you use meet manufacturers specs as tint can be affected depending on the glass.

Not having an issue with mine. I have the flat black windows but mine are simply made out of glass so I just clean them like any other glass. I suppose some could be made out of some kind of plastic. I think I read that Lance was using plastic to save weight.
  • Use a cleaner wax like Meguires. You can also try CLR - Calcium Lime and Rust remover. I've also had success using a flat razor to scrape it off.
  • If they're just hard water spots try BonAmi (not Comet). It doesn't scratch anything and it dissolves hard water spots.
I use it once a year to get all the spots off my windows and rear view mirrors.
