Cleaning power awnings.

How do you clean power awnings? They all look like they stick straight out, or is there a way to drop them down for access. We camp where there are lots of leaves and pine needles that fall onto the awning. Our manual awning we can just shorten the arms dropping the front and that allows us to sweep the leaves off before rolling the awning shut.

  • We can lower ours a couple feet to clean it, not as low as a manual but it is better than straight out.
  • Use some soapy water. With the awning out, mop it down top and bottom as best you can. Roll it up still soapy and let it sit rolled up for 15-20 mins. Roll out and mop again. Rinse off.
  • I use a sponge mop with a long extension pole meant for a paint roller
