- SidecarFlipExplorer IIIWatched the entire video.. Was an F250 short bed diesel 4x4 and it looked like the hitch let go to me. Truck is junk trailer, not so much. Truck looked new or pretty close to new, 5er as well. Nice wreck.

Why?
I think "newbies" are often more conscious than seasoned-experienced RVers. Far to often (and I'm just as guilty as the next person), we think we are such experts and know-it-alls that we have an attitude of "I'm invincible!
Fact be told, none of us are invincible! None of us are beyond the possibility of a deadly accident in the flash of a second! None of us have control over the other driver. And even seasoned drivers can get a false sense of security because of longevity of time where we've traveled incident free. But the reality is, all we can do is, do our best, do our best to drive defensively, and don't get so cocky we think the rules of the road don't apply to us, or we are above the law, or above the posted warning signs, speed limit signs, and hazard signs, stop lights, stop signs, and sometimes, even when we do have the right-of-way, we HAVE to give it up!
None should ever get so cocky to think they have such experience, it can never happen to them.
Every time I pull out of my drive way, I take a quick second and pray for a safe trip. When I get home, before getting out of the truck, I always say a short prayer again giving thanks for a safe and incident free trip, because I know, a loaded gun in the hands of a bank robber is probably a safer situation than driving on ANY road anywhere! - mich800Explorer

Driver comments:
"Update to incident: I was traveling 40 mph and the light went to yellow switched in less than 2 seconds. I did run the light, it was my fault 100% however after talking to CHP he says these lights are not timed correctly. I could not stop in time, I laid on my horn for what seemed forever (no eye contact from driver) He rear ended the back of my bed. Very scary my son (8) and daughter (5) and wife are all okay. I’m a good driver however today was not my day. It could of been a lot worse. Thank you for all the kind words. See you all soon!"?
Confusing, does he mean he ran a light and got tboned in the rear side? Don't know how he got rear ended. So the lesson for newbies is don't run lights? - TravlingmanExplorer II

Why? - LadyRVerExplorer IIAs I just got in safely off of about a 1,000 mile trip, towing a 31' fifthwheel by myself, that was scary to view....
- 2112Explorer IIWhat, it wasn't a 1/2 ton? But he had plenty of brake reserve.
Where are the weight police now?
Sorry, I had to do it - PopBeaversExplorer IIOne of the tow trucks is from Indio, near Palm Springs. Long shadows indicate either early morning or late evening.
