Coleman cte211 hydrid front bed

I have a 2015 Coleman CTE211 and the front bed will not close all of the way it is hitting the frame on the upper right hand corner. It looks like the frame is seperating on the lower right corner and the whole thing is about a 1/4" out of camber now. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for the help.

  • I looked in the storage compartment as well and everything looked good in there no water damage.
  • I opened up the bed and checked out all of the screws and all of them looked good. They are all tight nothing loose anywhere. I just can't seem to figure out what is going on with the bed. All I can say is the warranty or lack there of is a hard pill to swallow. CW is unwilling to help out with this issue unless I'm paying for it of course.
  • This is an example of why CW has such a bad reputation on RV forums.

And why 3rd party extended warranties are not worth it. They rarely cover the actual expensive stuff.
Coleman trailers are made for Camping World, by Dutchmen. They are clones of Durtchmen's Aerolite's line.
  • I live in Colorado springs Colorado. We bought the trailer as a used unit from Camping world in Madison Wisconsin. We purchased the extended warranty at the time of sale but where completely miss lead on the coverage. I was told by the sales associate that it would cover the trailer from front to back and it doesn't cover any thing but the machincal and electrical so there is nothing that they can do about the frame. I was told this by the sale manager here at the Colorado springs Camping world. They said that they could look at it but it would cost around 150 bucks an hour. That's why I'm out here looking for some help with this problem. As for the other answer I will try looking in the trailer to see what I can find and let you know. Since I'm new to this site I can not figuer out how to post pictures of what I have going on.

Have you checked with the dealer you bought from, which should be Camping World if you bought it new.
If you bought it used, pics would help a lot.

Have you checked the bunk door, around the hinge area?

Have you investigated inside the storage compartment under the door? Without a picture this is a guess but being intimately familiar with the LCI securelock bunk door assembly, it sounds like you have a leak somewhere. Either in the hinge area of the lower frame, or the the bottom perimeter channel of the door itself. Either could cause the structure to swell and when that happens the door can come out of alignment. Also with the door open check for soft spots on the interior panel of the door itself at the bottom. The caulk joint on those doors at the bottom exterior, between the lower aluminum channel / hinge assembly and the fiberglass door panel are notorious for failure, and are a constant maintenance item. With the door open pull loose the flap inside between the body/shelf and door that hides the hinge. You'll see the heads of 5 # 10 Phillips head screws that go into the bottom of the door and hold it together. If those screws are rusty you have water getting inside the door itself.
