The fail-speakers will throw the "What if the truck runs out of juice halfway up the hill?" argument at you.
Yes, I'm sure plenty of truckers will be totally unaware of how much battery they have left. That's sarcasm.
Their charging stations are mega-watts, and can charge hundreds of miles in about a half -hour. Or, simply charge while sleeping.
We got another dreamer here...
Have you been on the road in the last however many years as the hours of service DOT regs and Elogs have been in place?
Trucks literally litter many exits, roadside rest areas, he!! anywhere they can get to before they only have 5min to shut 'er down.
It's evident who does and who doesn't think of logistics, but the logistics of "mega-watt" chargers for, say half of all the trucks on the road (since can run basically only 2 shifts a day, IF all truckers everywhere were coordinated by magic to run exactly the same or exactly opposite hours). Nevermind load and wait times, schedule changes. etc
This coming from someone who's career is very heavy in logistics, Imma say it's gonna take a smarter man than Elon Musk or Joe Biden to figger it out, lol!
IF there was enough of your mega-watt chargers to charge 50% of all trucks on the road, where would you put them? How would you know where they would stop for the end of shift?
The lack of this becoming feasible for OTR trucking is mind bogglingly huge. I can't even put my "forget half the issues and concerns" hat on and get anywhere close to understanding how this would work.
This feels like a total dejavu post btw...
