Looks like the fuel pump issue is already covered LOL.
Towing wise, the Ford gets a very much improved exhaust brake with the 2015 refresh. The brake brings its performance for slowing down up there with RAM (or just a little beyond). Ford had a valve issue for the 2011 and part of the 2012 production run. Basically the valve may drop into the engine.
RAM had a major frame update for 3500's in 2013 and afterwards. 2500's followed in 2014. In 2013, RAMs also went to a newer DEF emissions system which is better than the 2007 to 2012 non-DEF system they used.
If you prefer the Ford, I'd go for a 2015 or later model year. RAM, make sure you get one with the updated Frame. And if you need PTO, make sure it has the Aisin transmission.
