Ford makes such junk! I can't understand why there are so many on the road doing work and countless customers buying them over and over as a badge of honor. Or is it possible they make pretty good trucks?
That said, I also recognize that Ford is terrible about remedying known problems with their designs in a timely manner. They'd rather keep making the same problems for years and wait until the next complete re-design of the vehicle, than change problem designs as the problems become known.
I think that about sums it up right there... You have people that are so brand loyal... be it Ford, GM or Ram... that they will buy whatever that company offers, even if they KNOW that the product isn't up to task.
Well, I'm a Ford guy so I'll buy whatever piece of cr@p they produce this year. Well, my dad bought GM so I'll buy this heap of garbage they roll off the line this year. I've always been a Dodge guy so I'll gladly overpay for this rust bucket on the dealers lot.
Blind brand loyalty is what allows companies to keep pushing out inferior products and selling them. I would argue that Ford has found a particularly stubborn niche of people who will buy whatever they offer, no matter how bad.
Personally I research any truck that meets my needs when its time for a new one. I've had a Ford, a Toyota and now a Ram. I researched each of them and bought what I felt met my needs and I have never once been disappointed. But I REFUSE to be so blind that I would continue to support a company that screwed me on my last truck.
Personally I went with Ram because of the Cummins...basic design been around for a lot of years!
