I ran across this video yesterday of a guy who tested the effectiveness of a few popular tank flushers. He gave it a pretty darn good effort. He created a clear black tank and tried to make it as realistic as possible. He even contacted NASA on how to make the simulated "waste" lol. Thanks for posting this. It seems to be a good non biast comparison. A good flush kit is all you really need. Not chemicals with rare exceptions.

Yeah, this guy sure has a good time with poop! A while ago, he posted the link to this forum and answered a lot of questions for everyone.Another interesting video he has is where he tries to use ice cubes to clean out a "poop pyramid". Again, informative, unbiased, and he kind of dispels the myth that dumping ice in a black tank cleans it.

This test would have been more complete if he'd also used a simple tank flushing wand, emulating running one down through the toilet throat ... he'd have discovered it to be even more effective than the Tornado because it can be rotated around to better clean all surfaces of the tank. It's also the only method that will also clean the toilet throat.

Nice that he went to all that effort. But. I wish he had used a more realistic proportion of length, width and height. Our tank is 32 gallon and only a few inches tall below the toilet. The dwg. below shows one 32 gallon dimension (there are several configurations available in tanks for the same volume). With these shallow tanks, it doesn't take very long to build up a pyramid of poop which takes some work to get flushed out with our built-in rinser.With the tall tank he uses, you'll get a faster rush of water when the valve is initially opened compared to what many tanks are actually like.Another thing with shallow tanks is that it is hard to clean the sensors well enough to prevent false readings. I usually let our flusher run for 5-10 minutes to get the tank bottom clean (can see tank bottom thru our toilet).Am looking forward to seeing his vid on how effective various chemicals are.

In tank flushers.......down the toilet flushers....up the drain pipe flushersNice 'tools' to have/use.Just have a hard time understanding 'campers' obsession with cleaning waste tanks.Nobody pays ANY attention to their S&B waste drain lines yet will spend several minutes and gallons of water rinsing/flushing RV waste tanks and/or use chemicals or special mix of ingredients to clean & mask smells.Then go poop :B
