Thank you everyone for the rapid responses! @dadoffourgirls was correct, it appears my towing weight is only 1000lbs which would barely even support the trailer I need 5x8 is the exact volume I need for my products. So it looks like I need an upgrade. I will be putting on quite a bit over miles, approximately 1000 miles per trip. I will be towing this vehicle all over the east coast from Florida to connecticut. Judging by @06Fargo's response I should go by 1/2 the tow ratings set by the manufacturer because I will be towing on the daily. So if I have a 3400 lb haul(2500 lb for cargo and 900 lb for the trailer itself) should I expect to buy a vehicle with atleast a 7000 lb tow rating?
If so, does anyone have some suggestions on a reliable vehicle to purchase? I would prefer to buy American....but as we all know almost every single American car company is going overseas. Even ford is moving to mexico! Henry ford is probably rolling in his grave. However, I digress. I would love to hear suggestions for vehicles that any of you might have. Thanks!
