Confirmation of Reservations

Has anyone else had trouble with RV parks sending confirmation emails for reservations? I made reservations over the phone yesterday and asked for a confirmation to be sent since I was traveling hundreds of miles. I was told I would receive an email in about an hour. After waiting all day, I sent an email to them requesting my confirmation. Again, no response even though they billed my deposit to my credit card for $140. Is this normal for RV parks? I am about to lose my temper with them.

  • i always call to confirm. i made a reservation for koa cape hatteras outer banks nc about 4 months before thanksgiving for 2 nights arriving friday after thanksgiving. received confirmation email for 2 nights. a month before thanksgiving i called and added another night for 3 total. arriving thanksgiving day. a week before thanksgiving i received another automated email confirmation for only 2 nights. before i could call and check on it a lady from the koa called and invited us as well as everyother camper staying thanksgiving day to a campground potluck dinner. i asked while on the phone to confirm my nights and it was for 3 not 2 stated in the koa email.. my point being as others have posted don't trust emails. call in person.

    Yeah, that'll fix it. :R
  • Hope you were kidding about losing your temper over this. Just call them and confirm E mail adress. Maybe they are flakes? Maybe wrong e mail adress? I get my state and fed confirmations almost bafore I hand up. Merry Christmas
  • My guess is there is a typo in your email address they have on file. People have strange email adresses and most people assume we can quickly decipher what they are saying. B C D E all pretty much sound the same on a cellular phone on speaker phone mode.
  • Nothing beats a phone call. We almost always call in our reservations, and get a confirmation number from a private campground.

With the State Parks it is sometime easier to use their reservation systems.

We had reservations at park, they called about three week ahead and said they could not accommodate us as they had over booked several spots that were being renovated and were not completed in time.

They did give us the number of some other parks and we did manage a to squeak in to another park.
