Confused

Well I have the opportunity to buy a 2012 TM Mini 19RD or a 2014 Coachmen RV clipper ultra-lite 17 FQ TT.

They are pretty close to GVW and the cost is pretty close..

So just the wife and I and maybe the grandchild...

Hard choices maybe some input might help.
  • Thanks for your input.... I have seen the Coachmen and its pretty nice... The TM seen by pics only... I guess there are pros and cons for both..
  • The biggest drawback to the Trail Manor is you have to set up the trailer every time you stop if you want to use it.

I will echo another poster in this thread. The huge plus of the TM is ease of pulling and slightly increased gas mileage.

The huge plus of the Coachmen is it's already to use when you stop. Think about that if it's raining when you stop for the night.

Before getting my current Koala, I had a Hi-Lo. It was nice in that when pulling the top dropped down to a height no higher than the cab of my pickup. I would still have it, except I could never come to grips with the idea should one of the lift cables break, I'd be SOL. But it was really nice to pull. It got and extra 1.5 miles to the gallon compared to my current trailer.
  • Go sit inside both and try to imagine yourself in there when it rains with all the grandkids and DW. Also, having to set up in that rain. Then, which would you chose.
  • If you are like me, you will get real tired of the setting up and tearing down on the TM. And the storage is close to 0. But it will tow better and you will get better mileage. I would take the Coachmen in a heartbeat...for the convenience.
  • You have to go with what you like but if I was faced with the choice I would go with the Coachman. It is newer, has less set up and a better floor plan. Also I like the bathroom better. On the trail manor, you need to lift the top half and set it up. It has 2 twin beds, one of them being the table, verses a queen bed which you need to decide which you want. Good luck with whichever one you pick.
  • I would go with the best floor plan. Provided the TV and cost are in line.
