Considering a New Tow Vehicle

we're towing a 22 ft 3000 lb(dry) tt with a 2007 dodge Dakota(v6 quad cab)
and we're considering a new(er) truck

the little dodge is great, underpowed but other wise fine

4 door, short box, 2 wd, it will also be our daily driver

its highly unlikely we'll ever want a bigger trailer, but probably one much better built, afterall most tt's are **** so we'll be going upmarket in build quality, which of course means heavier, possibly even an older airstream. we'd rather have better build quality than space

we travel long distances, so fuel economy and comfort are important.

suggestions?

  • I hate to say it, but Ford Eco boost or Ram eco diesel would offer your best economy choices. As long as your staying with small trailers either would be a fine choice. My preference would be the Ram.
