Awaiting an email from the dealer with details of a specific vehicle on offer, 2015 Silvardo 1500 LT with certain options we asked for. As mentioned earlier, sometime this week we'll get a loaner truck from the dealer to try with our TT. In the meantime I started looking into the 6.2L engine with the 8 speed tranny as an option. What I discovered is that for an multi-billion dollar international company their website sure does suck. I also discovered that you apparently cannot get that engine without going to a High Country. It is a very posh truck indeed but perhaps should be rebranded as the High Dollar.
While we await the demo trial, are there any opinions based on experience of the 5.3L engine 6 speed tranny package? Should we look at Ram or Tundra as possible alternatives? I may have an unjustified bias but I have never liked Fords. Might come from the Chevy v Ford wars from when I was a kid but oddly my wife feels the same.
