I will admit that I am not a cabinet maker and a real cabinet maker would probably say that I did things wrong, but it works for me. I build a lot of picture frames so I used similar techniques for the drawers.
I rip-cut a 1" x 6" board to ~2.75" then used a dado blade to cut out 3/8" on what would be the bottom of the drawer pieces. I simply mitered 45 degree angles for the corners.

Once all of the cutting was complete I glued the corners of the drawer sides and put the 4 sides all together at the same time. My trick for holding the drawer sides together as the glue dries is to run a cinch strap around the perimeter, pull it tight, and make sure that the drawer is square (measure diagonally corner to corner and slightly push a corner toward the other if it is too far out). I let the glue dry over night.
With the glue dried I cut sheets of 1/4 ply and nailed them, using staples, into the bottom of the drawers (I have a pneumatic brad nailer that doubles as a staple nailer which I bought from Harbor Freight many years ago that works perfect for things like this).
