A couple of sacrifices/compromises I didn't make clear in the last post.
1.... the plastic propane tank and valve cover we all love is now in conflict with the jack..... it had to go.
2...... as you can see, the snap up bracket for the wd hitch is pretty much underneath the box. I have to rely on the jack to elevate the tongue enough to make the snap up brackets manageable by hand. I guess I could cut the tool they supply in half to give me more leverage.
I am also guessing that there are a few out there that don't use snap up brackets. So for those folks..... it's a non-issue
Another thing I am going to experiment with is using the existing mounting slots on the tool box for a truck install as holes for ventilation. I plan on incorporating a thermo switch and using a push/pull configuration with some 12v computer fans. This should help with the life of the batteries by moderating the heat. And probably more importantly help ensure there is no dangerous hydrogen build up.
