Gary, he bought the slides from Rockler but any full-extension slides would work. And yes, he used the existing shelves, cut down to fit the new area. We did lose a bit of space on both sides since the facing of the cabinet extends further into the opening than the actual previous shelves but we figure what we lost in shelf width, we gained in rear space that was "lost". Make sure you get the "locking" slides so when they're pushed in firmly, they don't slide out (and open the cabinet door) while you're traveling down the road. We love ours!!
