Here is another project that I have been working on. I wanted a good indoor/outdoor thermometer for the Minnie. I bought this and an extra sensor from Amazon. Upon powering it up on my desk after an hour all 3 items were within 0.5 degrees of each other and matching the thermometer that I have hanging beside the desk. I do like the big numbers and clock.
I have one sensor in the pass through and one mounted under the Minnie out of the rain. Where I put it was very definitely a compromise location because on a still day the afternoon sun where I have the trailer parked radiates heat from the trailer to the sensor. The best place would be under the center of the trailer but then I would have to crawl under the trailer to retrieve it before drive off. On my drive off check list I have a note to remove the sensor below the Minnie. One nice advantage to the system is that I can bring the readout in the house to see the outside temperature when not traveling.
