I've used the exact same set up on my rig. I purchased it new in 2005 and while i'ts "low rent" compared to the sway integrated units I mentioned earlier, it levels the truck, is quiet and goes down the road with zero sway. Actually, he and I have never towed with anything other than this type setup, so for him it's literally "free money"!
I've been using that type of hitch since the late 70's. I couldn't begin to guess how many miles I've pulled without any problems. I do know that just in the last 5 yrs mileage would exceed 45K
