Cooper has a great reputation for quality tires. Besides being sold under the Cooper name, the supply lots of "house brand" tires. Haven't personally run them, but know people who have and felt they were good.
I've run Michelins on my 04.5 silverado. They are getting more expensive. Maybe it's the way I drive, but I've never been able to get anything near the claimed 70K mileage, maybe 40K. But the same with Michelin MXV4's on my sedan. more like 25K on that one instead of 50K. And while the Michelin truck tires were good for traction wet and dry, the michelin car tires which claimed good wet traction are IMHO very poor. Way worse than the Continental DWS which is a way less expensive (<1/2 the price of michelins) and equal wearing tire.
So, IMHO don't get hung up on the michelins, take a good look at the coopers.
