Cooper tires

Just replaced the OEM Michelin AT2's that came with the truck and put on Cooper ATW's. After only 18,000 KM the Michelin's were down to 50% tread depth in the back with 85% of the miles towing. The Coopers so far are much better off road and handle well in snow and ice. Even though the Michelin's are rated as an all terrain tire, they are horrible on wet grass, leaves, and small mud puddles. Will have to wait until spring to see what they're like towing and what they'll do for longevity.

If your referring to the SRA them are cheap bottom of the barrel junk. What is there to like about them?? Poor traction, harsh ride and lots of folks having vibration issues with them. Pulled mine off at 8k mi and haven't looked back. There are so MANY better tires out there than the SRAs.

well, my son has my old silverado with the Michelin's. All I can say is that the Denali with the "Cheap bottom of the barrel Gooodyear SRA's" run circles around the silverado with "expensive top of the line" michelins for wet and dry traction, stopping, ride quality and quietness and likely tread wear life. Compared to the Goodyears, The michelins are absolutely horrible in the rain, and dry traction is not as good either. And the goodyears don't have any vibration either.

If Les Schwab wouldn't have jacked up the price on Toyo's, I go for them over Michelin any day of the week.

I gave up on michelin tires for cars year ago, had them on a van in the 80's and wasn't impressed, but then when the silverado needed new tires decided to give them a try again when Les upped the price on Toyo's. Still think for my use and our weather they are overpriced and underperformance. For the silverado the ONLY LRE studdless winter tire option was Michelin. Again, not apples and apples but they aren't near as good as the Bridgestone Blizzaks I have on my high performance sedan. Way better than a M&S tire, but not up to the blizzaks IMHO.

Once the Denali needs new tires, Cooper is one I'll be looking at based on other friends experiences.

I ran Cooper tires on all my Broncos for off-roading......very good tire that took abuse

I run Michelins on my Dodge 3500 for towing .........great mileage and never an issue.

But now that I'm not FT and towing all the time I'm going to give Cooper a shot when I finally wear this set of Michelins out

Yea, I have been fooled by four sets of Michelin tires...never again. Out of the four sets I have owned every one of them failed or rode terribly.

The tires on my Town Car are Michelin tires and they ride terrible...do not hold air at all...never mind the sidewall cracks. Soon to be replaced by Coopers or Khumo.

I don't get it...Why pay more for a product that underachieves...yea the tread lasts and last and lasts but the sidewalls are horrible.

And I'm not spending another dime to "Try Again". They are snake oil...nothing more than a middle of the road tire.

Experience counts and I'd rather have a 50k mile tire that has good handling and actually holds air.

4 sets!!! All had sidewall cracks...all handles like ****...all held air like garbage.... 5 Sets if you count the BF Goodwrich tires I put on my Firebird.

Cheap ole Coopers...no Problems....Firestone Transforce tires? No problem.

Nothing wrong with coopers. Very good tires in the few sets I've had.

I bought my first set of Coopers in October and have about 3K miles on them and couldn't be happier for a light truck tire. I have the ST MAXX in 255/80R17 LRE tires for my fall/winter tires when I am not hauling the atvs and camper around. I have about 500 miles of towing at 18K GCW, a couple hundred rough dirt road miles, and did a 1200 mile weekend on the interstate trip with them. They are the best LT tire I have ran on my Dodge.

Conversely, I didn't like the OEM michelins on my 3500 in anything by dry pavement. They were cheap and I used them as a tow tire for a few years in the summer but I refused to use them as a winter tire. We do have P michelins on my wife's 4Runner that are nothing like their LRE counterpart thou.

We've run Coopers on all of our vehicles for the last 10 years or longer. My wife puts on over 30,000 miles a year, so we put on good tires. Cooper has always been good! Every time we buy a new vehicle the tires last 1 year with my wife and we have to upgrade, our tire guy likes Coopers and they have been good for us! I don't care for the tires new car dealers seem to have around, they just don't last too long.

I am running Definity Dakota H/T on my Silverado.

I had a left front Firestone blow out on me going to Bikeweek a couple of years ago. The only replacement I could find was at Pep Boys in Jacksonville.

I liked driving it. It was quiet, smooth, and seemed to hold up and it has a more aggressive tread than the highway Firestones. So after I drove it for 6 months, I was afraid to keep the Firestones and decided to replace the other 3 with Definity Dakotas. I read they were made by Cooper. Cooper has a good reputation in Truck / RV world.

The Firestones were dry rotting in the tread (not the sidewall) and the highway tread had gotten me stuck in wet grass. I pulled my trailer in mud with the Definity Dakotas.

So far, so good.
