After seeing recent CNBC TV news report by Barry Sullivan of World Wide Exchange and the poll of present EV owners the future looks bleak for EVs.
Here is the Sullivan report:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ys-VmFDIq2oHere is an estimate for 2023: Electric car sales were 0.8 million units in 2016, and these are projected to surpass 5.3 million units by 2023, at a CAGR of 33.6% during the forecast period (2017–2023).
https://www.psmarketresearch.com/press-release/electric-car-marketMarket share in Canada year over year, in the most recent periods has gone from 4.7% to 8.7%. The expectation is for that number to double in the next year. That doesn't look bleak to me.
I would easily be able to use level one charging other than for two trips per year to visit my brother. Even on those two trips, with a little management (making sure the car was fully charged), I'd not have to stop. I do usually for a lunch break.
Fuel is my second largest expense. My largest is telephone/data.
