Cost of food while camping ... does it have to be high?

Due to limited frige and freezer space, we only carry the basics, plus other foods for several days. Traveling, it is very easy to find a Walmart or other grocery store to pick up whatever we need. If we are camped or a few days, we try to get enough to hold for a while so we don't have to get out.
