Cost of food while camping ... does it have to be high?

food cost is much higher for me when traveling…
because I can’t buy volume discounts…
at my home base I have a freezer and full sized fridge and 2 different sized drink fridges… I can buy the whole filet or rib eye and carve it to the thickness I want and like… there just isn’t the room in any camper for that…

so we eat the same but buy in smaller quantities, more often and that = high cost…
