We always ask the locals for their favorite restaurant. We have been directed to some hole-in-the-wall cafes that look like ptomaine taverns from the outside, but have wonderful local cuisine inside.
And we frequently stop at the farmer roadside stands and local markets for the regional varieties of produce.
But nothing beats fresh caught trout from the stream next to your boondocking site.
