It's complicated, really hard to compare.
If including fuel, how many of those miles are towing?
And a vehicle with higher # miles per year will do much better on a $$/mi basis then one driven just a few miles per year, because of annual depreciation costs. (and of course buying used really helps drop those costs).
Overall, my purchased new 2011 F150, traded-in in 2016, cost Can$0.83/mile with gas cost being C$0.32/mile of that. Towing ~70-75% of the time. Prior to that, a used 2009 Tacoma, that we only had for a year or two, cost C$0.82/mile with C$0.22/mile fuel cost. US$ would be lower by 15-30%.
By way of comparison, if we traded in our little 2011 Chevy Cruze today, the total would prolly be C$0.76 with only C$0.11 of that for fuel. We drive that one very little per year so depreciation raises the per mile cost a lot.
