Do you ask the price when you buy a truck or just hand the sales manager a blank cheque and drive off with the one that bites your billy goat? In my way of thinking, if the purchase price matters at all the cost of ownership should matter more.

The cost of a new truck is something I have direct control over.
I have almost no control of the cost of actually towing with that truck. It's going to get what every fuel efficiency it's going to get and my tracking and keeping track of every mile wont change that. It would only create anxiety and concern over something I have no control over.
