It sounds like an adjustment to me, but I am not a technician. We had a similar issue with an earlier trailer, and they had to do some adjustments. It was covered under warranty.
I bet the slide mechanism has a better warranty than the trailer itself. Most of the major components have longer warranties than the initial trailer warranty.
