cover for winter

I just bought my first pop up camper. I have always been a tent camper. I do not have a garage to store my camper in. So Should I buy a cover for it? I have a AC unit on top. I live in Delaware so I expect snow and rain and sun.
I bought a 2006 Jayco Baja 10y with the front deck on it.

  • We covered ours with a good quality tarp found most anywhere. Surprisingly a near perfect fit. One trick is to hang milk jusg in corners. This keeps the wind from slapping the paint off. Worked for us.
  • Our PUP's manual said that any cover needed to not cover the entire camper, in order to allow it to "breathe" (not sure of the exact wording) and so that moisture doesn't build up in the camper. We used a tarp, bungeed it down to the frame, but the tarp only covered just below where the camper's roof meets the body. It did very well for quite a few years with that kind of care.
  • You can go with a cover or spend a bit less $$$ and throw a good tarp over it and get just as much protection. Just make sure you've got the tarp tied down good.
