CP3 in Ram verses CP4 in Ford and GM

NC...you are also a technologist...but think you have a higher level of tolerance
for this kind of stuff...most likely 'cuz I'm older than you with
those obligatory hard knock bumps on my noodle... :B
Anyway...I'm not a diesel guy...sticking with gasoline, but always
interested in anything technical...found it fascinating learning
about this Bosch CP4 pump. It would make a great design class
tutorial on how not to design something of this nature...and...to
take the lumps and kill it...instead of band aiding it

Didn't know what DLC was till Rick's thread showed up here...do know
CVD (Chemical vapor deposition ) and found same thing...just
different gaseous chamber fill for deposition onto the target
Diamond is cool element...best non-stick, slickest element, hardest
element, best thermal conductor...known to mankind.
This material, DLC, was added in one of the revisions as a 'band aid'
trying to solve the poor lube qualities of diesel in such a high
pressure application
