I'm on my third CPAP. My 1st one have 12V DC input jack. Most newer ones run on 24V. I bought the optional 12V power supply with the machine that came with the 12V/24V converter brick. I believe it costs less than $50. It also has a cable with a 12V receptacle and battery clamps to hook up to a car battery directly.
Most current Resmed units run on 24V. But virtually all the rest of the CPAP machines run on 12V. Not sure why Resmed went with 24V rather than 12V.
Resperonics dreamstation units need a proprietary 12V adapter, since there is also some signalling going on
But in general, 12V adapters are readily available for virtually any current CPAP/BiPAP.
