while we have some CPAP user's attention, I am due for an update of my REspironics Remstar plus M series machine.
Any suggestions or recommendations? I assume they will just get a similar machine as a replacement. it has to be medicare acceptable.
do want to stay with 12 volt operation if possible.

When I had my sleep study and the technician said I would need a CPAP I told her I would need one that ran on 12v. When the local medical equipment provider delivered the CPAP it was a Res Med S9 which is 24v. Told the person delivering it that I had requested a 12v since I would need it camping and traveling. He said the unit they provided was specified by the doctor. Eventually the Dr provided me with a prescription slip for the provider saying the 12v/24v adapter was necessary. That was good enough for my insurance and I had a premium policy that covered all medical equipment at 100 percent with no out of pocket. The problem I had was with the equipment provider understanding that I was covered after they lied to me 3 times trying to make me pay the full retail price for it which was $125. They finally accepted what the insurance was going to pay them after visiting the equipment provider in person telling them I didn't appreciate being lied to by them and that I had confirmed with insurance I was covered.
You may need to coordinate with your sleep doctor on which machine the equipment provider will deliver and with insurance to make sure they will cover the adapter needed.
