Cracked Vinyl Floor. what to replace it with.

I have recently purchased a used 2009 jayco Jay flight 22fb from the original owner. He stored it outside last winter and the roll vinyl cracked all the way down the camper. I have looked on here as I assume there would have been tons of flooring threads but haven't found any good ones. What are people replacing the flooring with in these things? I fear 1 piece vinyl flooring would be extremely difficult to cut to size around all of the permanent furniture and fixtures.

  • One of the reasons, the flooring cracks, is the walls and cabinets were built on top of it. There is no room for expansion and contraction. Severe cold weather, causes the flooring to contract to a point where there is no more give.

Any flooring you install, will have more flexibility than the original.

Some folks install laminate. Some install carpet, some install new vinyl (cut around walls and cabinets). Either vinyl or laminate, will require some type of molding to trim around the edges.
  • Easy to replace. Just cut out the old floor around the perimeter. Use the pieces as a pattern for the new sheet goods. Lay the new piece down and install 1/4 round around the edges to hold it in place. No glue...Done..

  • Pretty much whatever you want to. Lots of folks put in laminate wood flooring with good results. Just bee sue you have clearance for a slide, if you have one.
