Creaking Truck Bed?

We have long had a “creaking” sound coming from somewhere in the back as we drive. For a long time I thought it was the fast guns but now I believe it is coming from the truck bed on the Super Duty. Does anyone else have this experience?
  • Creaking can also come from leaf springs as they rub between each other when the leaves flex.
  • Also from the camper itself. Think the rubber bumpers on the front of the camper squeak on mine.
  • I have a clicking noise, or squeaking coming from where the hold downs are hooked to the frame a friend crawled under while I moved the camper when sitting still said to oil that, but camper is off the truck right now and truck is going in to be oil sprayed as our winters are bad up here for salt on roads and the new stuff I think it's hydrogen chloride they use, definitely eats wiring

That could be it. Is there any kind of solution?
  • Some springs use plastic pads between them to reduce this noise. I think as dirt and corrosion get between the springs, the noise increases. You could try spraying the leaves with a thin lubricant, but it may require disassembling the spring pack to really clean it up. Don’t forget the spring hangers and shackles if you start a cleaning spree.
  • On my f450 and f350, I had to put a bit of grease on the rubber pad that the overload spring touches on the frame. Both trucks squeaked once the camper was loaded.

  • I have a creaking and squealing sound from the right side of the truck , oops , maybe that is my wife !
  • Have had issues with my super duty bed bolts loosening as a result of removal and replacement for spray on liner. Dealer messed up a couple when tightening them and had to replace nut and bolt in a couple places. Dealer and liner installer covered most of cost to replace. All that to say the bed will make noise if one or more mounting bolt back off. Look for rust to start under the bolt heads or for loose washer.
