It appears that the handgun will be a problem.Why take a 20 ga. shotgun, you would be better off with bear spray. The bear spray is better than a gun aginst a bear if you are suprised by a grizzly and if you are suprised by a intruder in the middle of the night the bear spray will take care of that too. Bear spray has a range of 35'.
