cubic foot of wood? how big is this? damn restrictions

local campground that I want to checkout next weekend put a full ban on bringing in firewood..they force you to buy there wood which is $8.00 for a cubic foot..any idea how much this is? im in upstate NY in Adirondacks and a lot of campgrounds now baning anywood..not even allowing that 50 mile radius anymore....what other options do I have? any other wood that might be cheaper then this $8.00??? thank you,
  • This is the DEC link:

Properly Kiln dried firewood is exempt.

So, not sure if it qualifies, or if the campground will be knowledgeable enough, but many places (Home Depot) carry bundles of Kiln dried firewood for about $5.00 a bundle.

  • That would make a cord of wood cost $1,024. I haven't sold firewood since I was in high school, but it might be time to start again. Ask them where their firewood came from just to see if they can tell you. And tell them you want a solid cubic foot of wood, not one that's mostly air.
