Cummins DIY Service

Some of you may have read my thread about my free dealer oil change program I have and if I should use it or not. Anyway I think I've decided to just do it myself going forward.

Couple questions mostly about the filters.
Are the Fleetguard filters OK to use vs. Mopar? I've read lots of people claiming they're the same.

Amazon the best price?

Is the front fuel filer nut a 29mm ?

All tips are appreciated!!

Fleetguard is Cummins factory brand, MOPAR is re-branded at best.
I get fuel and oil filters at local Cummins NW parts shop.

Geno's Garage is a good place to purchase.
  • Me personally I pre- purchase a MOPAR service contract through my dealer at a huge discount. I think I end up paying around $75 per oil change when all is said and done. I buy 4 oil changes at a time. I would just as well let them get all dirty and deal with the waste oil every 10k - 15k miles or so. I also like that they keep all my service paper work in their system just in case I have a warranty claim.
I do do all of my own fuel filter maintenance due to the silly labor rates to change out the filter and water separator. I purchase my filters from www.genosgarage.com and they can tell you about Fleetguard vs Mopar vs Parker (Parker for the rear fuel filter/seperater) . (All the same)
