Cummins' new exhaust

TFLtrucks.com

As others on here have stated, Cummins is looking to really improve future emissions technology. I wish them the best and hope it turns out to be really reliable. :B
  • Looks like copying Chevy with both an ugly black box hanging low and a hood scoop.

I dont see a scoop and that black box is probably a testing device. I can't see them putting something there and that low.
  • The black box hanging down is the DEF tank, it's on all Duramax. One of the worst design elements I have ever seen.

Watch the video, near the end when they zoom in on the hood of the red one.

You dont know what that is, why would Ram change locations of the DEF tank?
  • I'm guessing the black box isn't actually the def tank. My guess is it's something with the testing and will be gone for the final version.
  • 2019 will be when the new trucks and new emissions are released. ALL emissions will be downstream of the engine. Cummins claims 20 percent increase TQ and 10 percent on HP just from cleaning the engine up.

That would be 1080 lb/ft and 424 bhp for the Dodge. Yes please.

Wonder if they make the Aisin the only auto option?

Yes and I don't believe it is scooped. My 2016 has that predominate hump in the center of the hood. I believe it is mostly the angle at which the picture was taken. I took a picture of my truck yesterday in the same angle and there is a raised section in the hood that is just like in the video. I don't know how to post pictures from my phone to here or I would post it.

Funny...around the time they come out with that I will be doing the same with my 2015, except all of my emmissions will be down on the floor. Paid off and deleted
