It will. I run a pyro on mine and simply driving through a CG always cools it down enough.
I have one place where I have to pull a steep hill at freeway speeds and then stop at a rest stop at the top of the hill. In that case it does take a good 5 minutes to come down below 300 degrees pre-turbo.
I don't think an 06 will defuel. That would have come along with the 07.5 model year and the 6.7L engine with all its gawd awful electronics.
