- blofgrenExplorerWell, we have 2 SUV's; a 2005 Acura MDX that we have owned for almost 11 years; it is a very comfortable and reliable vehicle and we love it. We have thought about buying something newer but it runs so good and is so trouble free, what for?
Last year we bought a 2001 GMC Yukon from the original owner to pull our boat. It's in great shape and runs fantastic with 266k kms on it. We love it as well and actually took it on a solo road trip a couple of weeks ago for the great room and comfy ride.
Plus they are both much safer than any small car! - Bionic_ManExplorer

IMHO, safer for everybody, not just you, if everybody drove smallest car the would do the job.
Trying to be nice, so I will just say I don't share your opinion. - toedtoesExplorer IIIThat could be why they didn't do it.

Last I read it was going to be based on the jeep wrangler.
I don’t really see the point in that,
That’s not what I mean’t. I don’t see the point of using the Wrangler because it couldn’t carry or tow any more than the Durango, probably less and it sure wouldn’t be any competition for the Tahoe, Expedition etc. - IdaDExplorer

YES! Not just yes, but Bell YES!. If you drive the biggest car, others will get hurt, not you. Me! Me! I'ts all about Me!
Do you ever think about how much more road each large vehicle takes? Not just the pavement under, but more stopping distance means more space needed between to prevent accidents. Ever read on here about somebody worried about MH/gas station? Bigger cars take more space.

A SRW HD truck for 5 people and a dog pulling a fifth wheel is the smallest vehicle that will do the job. Drop the trailer and we are bursting at the seams when we cram in our Pilot. I guess I'm going to need some help piling the family into a subcompact car so we take up less space on the road. :R - toedtoesExplorer IIIYep. And they were moving them to the same plant so production costs would be lower.

By the way, the Durango is now back to body on frame.
Me no think so.
Ah, dang. They did it to me again. They keep whispering going back to the body and frame and then they release the unibody... Sorry, I hadn't looked at it in a few months.
There may be something in the works full frame suv.
They've been suggesting that for several years now, so at this point it might mean nothing. Or maybe they put it out there to see if folks want it - I'm guessing most folks don't know the difference (my family were in the auto business, so I learned these things).
It would have to be based on the 1500.
Should know for sure in the next couple months. If no sightings I would say probably not. Looking for a 1500 based platform. - JRscoobyExplorer II
