- skwidExplorerThere's a absolute ton of answers to your question but I'll let you know my experience. I have a 2004 Chevy Tahoe HD Tow package. I pull a 2013 32' Shadow Cruiser. It runs about 6000lb loaded and I have a equalizer hitch. It pulls great... It struggles a bit in the hills sometimes but it's not horrible. I plan to replace my Tow Vehicle with a Diesel truck soon but that's that.
I'd say I'm on the extreme end of your question though. - DutchmenSportExplorerYour question is too broad. Can you narrow down what kind of camper you are considering? New, Used, how long? Walk around bed, corner bed, bunk bed. Shower, tub, or both, sofa or recliners only, U shaped dinette or stand alone table and chairs. Some specifics will help.
Tear Drop trailers that can be towed behind a motorcycle are good for some couples, and then 35 foot trailers are the only thing that other couples will consider only.
Thanks, - jsparkscougarExplorerWe are downsizing from a fifth wheel and f250 diesel. I was hoping we could get a small light weight travel trailer around 24 or 25 feet and pull it with a SUV.
I want a new SUV!! lol - jsparkscougarExplorerwe really aren't that picky...do like a walk-around bed...and we really have enjoyed the angled tub. We do take long trips so some storage (wardrobe) is a must.
- dodge_guyExplorer IIFor what you are desiring, i would stick with the F250. Almost any 1/2 ton suv will not handle a larger trailet all that well. I think you will be kicking yourself later. With everything you like about your current 5'er it will be hard to find a light weight TT that you will be happy with.
- AirForceAnglerExplorerWhat kind of SUV? Tahoe, Expedition, RAV4? Which is more important to you, the tow vehicle or the travel trailer? If you have your mind set on the TV, get it then find something you can tow with it. If you're looking at a particular trailer, get it then find an SUV that will tow it.
- kmbernsteinExplorerWe have a Ford Explorer, and a Koala 21CS for hubby and I.. We have towed over mountains, etc., without a hiccup.
- TerryallanExplorer IIYep it depends on what New SUV you get as to what TT you can tow. Anything less than an Expedition, or Suburban, and you need to get a popup, 18' max ultra lite. You option expand quickly with the Burb, or Expe.
- camp-n-familyExplorerNeed more info. What kind of SUV are you thinking of? The towing limits can vary greatly from 1500lbs for a small 4cyl SUV to over 7000lbs for a large V8 one.
I've towed a 19' hybrid at 3500lbs with a V6 4Runner and a 26' bunkhouse with a V8 4Runner. - OpenRangePullenExplorer

Does anyone know of a lite weight travel trailer good for a couple that could be towed with an SUV?
Could you be more specific, A SUV can be anything from a 141HP, with a 1,000lds towing capacity to a 460HP full size SUV with a 11,000lbs towing capacity.
Make?
Model?
Year?
I'd recommend a Jayco White Hawk 24RKS Its under 5,000lbs, its 24ft, 1 slider, separate bedroom with a walk around bed up front, and a modest sized bedroom.
