Jumping topic here as this seems too important to miss.
Someone at the Tesla Owners' Forum posted a story about his Tesla X having saved his life and that of his family.
He has not enrolled for his car to have the FSD feature although he is aware it has "collision avoidance" that he is expecting to just be a warning through beeps or flashing lights in case of collision or lane departures or encroachments.
As he related, he said he knows he is going to hit a car in front of him or that the truck at his back will hit him had he brake hard. However, what happened is that his Tesla X forcefully took over to brake hard and changed lane quickly and accurately. He says said maneuver was accurate and precise that it's beyond his ability and reaction time to do.
He suspect that every Tesla has the feature but they are reluctant to publicize it for reasons of legal liabilities or owner's over reliance and the lack of clear government regulations about these features.
I'm not sure if I want that on Cybertruck unless it also has a sensor that I'm towing a trailer and put that in considering for such a maneuver, lol.
I’ll have to look again but I believe all those options are on one menu page and can be enabled or disabled at will. I’ll see if I can snap a pick of the menu page and put it up.
