Yea as much as I like electric I would not buy a CT to pull 14,000 pounds very far or very often due to range and charging logistics. Better suited for a TrailManor or similar. Still going to be a PITN at times. Although I do expect conditions to improve over time.
"Cybertruck wil pull 14,000 lbs. Your trailer must be the size of a house to call this much poundage "little" LOL!"
How far, and how quickly? How many stops along the way? How easily will it be to get to a charger with a 14,000 lb. trailer attached?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Of course most of these vehicles will never tow anything (like many trucks) so don't count them out as completely impractical.
All the trailers we are considering are under 4000 pounds so little by today’s standards. One is closer to about 2000 pounds LOL. Lilttle is good for the next one. :).- Yosemite_Sam1Explorer

From a previous post in another thread:
Here is a quote from someone at the Tesla forum on the concerns on the reduced range of Cybertruck when towing. I have no idea what this techie is saying but it's good enough for me on the range issue.
"I don't think the cybertruck will be affected as much as the Model x. The model x uses induction motors. An electric motor is most efficient when it is under a full load, so for model x efficiency reasons Tesla would not have put a much bigger motor than is needed for non-towing use. This means that when model x is towing it's motor is not at full back emf and is slightly leaking. ( Not all the energy goes to power, it is wasted as heat).
The cybertruck will not have this problem because it will use switched reluctance motors. With switching you can alter the timing to increase torque at the expense of top speed. Cybertruck will have a tow mode. I believe this mode means top speed will be dropped from 130 to say 85. power= torque x rpm so if you lower the rpm you get more torque. I have seen electric motors where you can set the timing for as much as a 20% difference in torque." - Yosemite_Sam1Explorer

To each his own. Just don't make the same mistake we did.
We choose a small one for ease of towing and maneuvering into the tight campsites of national parks.
But wife has nowhere to lounge around as she's sensitive to cold weather and won't stay outdoors in folding chairs.
Have to upgrade only after two years to one with sofa. Not much regrets and it's a lot better with the leapfrog in technology in just two short years. Yosemite Sam1 wrote:

Yah. All good things to consider. We have some time to decide. We’ll figure it out when the time comes. Thanks for the input though.- Yosemite_Sam1Explorer

Yeah understood.
Cybertruck even with the posted 300-mille range and estimated range of 150 to 200 miles when towing is still within my current driving style and stops.
Knowing Tesla and the write-up from a techie I just posted, I'm confident it will only improve -- and then some. - wanderingaimlesExplorer

So what you are saying is that for camping, you will have to camp within 75 to 100 miles of your home, or find somewhere you can sit for an extended period to recharge within that distance of every campsite you intend to visit.
Too limiting for my taste. wanderingaimlessly wrote:

Meh. There are about 200 lakes in that radius from here. Most of the campers are hooked up and on the road on Friday night by 5 and drinking beer by 7 around here. Charging is less of an issue all the time. DCFC is growing fast and campgrounds with power are common. We have noticed that the province is now starting to put in charging stations that are more conducive to trailer towing. Even of all places at our local airport. LOL.
It might not be right for everybody but it would work for many including us. Obstacles to EV’s are a lot less formidable than people think.- Yosemite_Sam1Explorer

The 5th post below from a techie's analysis says the technology used in Cybertruck will be a step up from the 50% range reduction when towing of Tesla X.
But then, it's not for everybody. But it fits and it would be a lot better than my ICE puller -- in costs. and convenience. - fj12ryderExplorer III"But it fits and it would be a lot better than my ICE puller -- in costs. and convenience."
Cost? Perhaps. Convenience? Perhaps in the future, right now, not so much. - Going to be a while for the first trip report.....
