Most in TX have fixed rate contracted electricity.
What are those reports of household billings of $17,000 for just a month?
Those that rolled the dice with wholesale variable rate contracts.
There should have been a provision in the contract that the customer has to be notified when charges exceed a certain amount and has to agree to continued service at those rates. - lbrjetExplorer

Texas still has about 3900 customers without power.
The folks who can afford it with hybrid grid tied systems were fortunate.
Don't you think after suffering from the freeze without power and seeing their electric bills like adding insult to injury, they just decided to be cut off from the grid?:E - pianotunaNomad IIITexas still has about 3900 customers without power.

I own TSLA and I'm sticking with it.
And I have stock in GM, GE and Colgate, doesnt make me a fanboy of any of them. Tesla likely has a great grocery getter for the city folks who want to pat themselves on the back about how great they are. Much like the Hollywood types who brag about the Prius cars, that their maids use to buy their groceries for them.
Whether or not they are worth anything in the real world is still under evaluation.

Someone Lost $ shortin Tesla yes
So there are still a few who have not lost their shirts yet.:E - valhalla360Navigator

That's why I love Tesla. It's in constant improvement and innovation -- and they install it on their units even if already sold.
Kind of like...any other concept car (which all the automakers do)...there's always updates and changes from the concept car you see at the auto show and what you see for sale at the dealer.
Look at the recent Ford Bronco introduction. Some of the early concepts and ideas changed as they moved from pre-marketing to actual production. - fj12ryderExplorer III
