We didn't although I carried 7 liters with me and I am pretty sure Eric carried more than that. Plus the first day we hiked in light 4 miles one way just to cache a gallon of water each, in case we needed it. White creek had enough of a flow in places that we filtered water from it at our first camp and then Shinumo creek had lots of water that we filtered from. We each had a filter in case one went down. But the creeks were very clear so clogging wasn't an issue.
