To both Eric and Mike a great big WELL DONE!
It is now almost 30 years since I last did any back packing (mostly in the Wind rivers and Uintas with my son) and even in my prime I would never have been able to do what you two did - I was always too out of shape. What I remember the most about back packing was that I hiked all day with 50 pounds on my back, head down, seeing only the trail 6 feet in front of my shoes, got to camp and spent most of the remaining daylight squatted on a rock boiling water (we didn't have affordable filters back then) to make a not too good freeze dried dinner. Then, at the end of the trip, after hiking out to the car it was like being born again to get in and drive off, but when I got out of the car, on the first stop, after an hour or so I almost fell to the ground because my muscles were so stiff and sore I could hardly support myself. Well that is how I remember it, anyway :). But I always loved getting out in the mountains and the experience was always worth the effort.
Now I'm slowly learning the truck camping trade and am grateful to now have that in my life - we really do love getting out with our Outfitter and do so every chance we get.
Once again many thanks for sharing an outstanding trip report and really wonderful pictures. You are both to be congratulated for doing what not too many are able to do.
