Dealer Direct Purchase?

But, you can spend a couple grand and enjoy a cross-country camping trip, which is why you buy it. OR, you can pay a shipping company to bring it. I know the one I'd choose. Of course, you gotta have the time, too.

We have lots of choices, depends on which ones fit the best.

When we bought our Adventurer earlier this year, the answer is a qualified Yes. They had a $500 dealer service change for the final preparation and loading of the TC. Ultimately, we decided we would rather pay a bit more for the comfort of knowing that there is a nearby dealer that is somewhat obligated to providing us service if needed.

I bought used saved, all fees, all initial depreciation, and picked it up and saved all transportation fees, do yourself a favor and pick up a nice lightly used unit for about 1/3 new cost. RVtrader is your friend

I'll have to check but I think I would have to title it and pay taxes at DMV. However, I saw one dealer sheet showing thousands of dollars for delivery to the east coast. If I could save several thousand by picking it up myself that would be a goo deal. Does Adventure or AF allow that?

I bought my Host direct from the factory in 2011. I saved almost $4k in sales tax.
California doesn't title or license campers,so no problem there. I suppose I could have been a good little tax payer and told the State what I bought, but I didn't and I feel feel good about it.
In 2011, all of Host's dealers were gone. Now Host has dealers and I don't know if they will sell direct.
If I were to buy a new camper, there is no way I would buy it in Calif., it is just to expensive.
There is a Host dealer just a few miles from the factory, so that is where I would go if I could not do it direct.
When I bought my Host, I met several people who drove from as far away as Kansas to pick up their camper.

I don't know about your state but my state does not require you to register your TC. The truck license is all that is required.

Many states (most) do not require licensing a truck camper. Are there any that do?
