Great run!!!
We did Dvalley 2 years ago about the same timeframe.
There was a roaring storm that hit... Winds were clocked at 70+ at night along with a torrential downpour. Then it snowed a bit the next day. We had our VW baja with us so we went site seeing like you did.. Nice.
On the way home the weather was really turning bad... We were going to go up 395 but all the passes were closed, even Berryessa pass. So we headed back to the Tehachapi pass... It was snowing but we made it over the pass without chains.. 1/2 hr later they shut it down too...
Weather this time of year sure can be un-predictable.
