Decal Removal on Bigfoot / Fiberglass?

I removed the decals on the front and rear of my 5er after about 6 years because they were cracking and peeling. Some came off fairly easily with a heat gun and plastic scraper. Others that were cracked more I had to use a 3M Eraser Wheel. And then 3M Adhesive Remover on both areas to remove the remaining adhesive.

After removing the decals, there was a distinct ghost image of the decal shape. That area was still shiny whereas the other areas were dulled. But since I replaced the decals with new ones, that was great for positioning the new decals. Didn't take pictures.

It'll be noticeable up to about 20' away depending on how good of vision you have.
Cut and polish will help, but not 100%.

I've been thinking about doing it for a couple years. I just pulled the cover off the camper an hour ago and may experiment soon. I do have a Porter Cable random orbit polisher and some compound. May try 3M Premium Fiberglass Restorer and Wax first though.
I read somewhere to be careful with a heat gun.
