- catfishmontanaExplorerI am pulling for Ram, always had a soft spot for them. But I do believe I will be checking the ford out again. On man, decisions........
- travelnutzExplorer IIMARK VANDERBENT,
It won't be until the end of Feb 2014 at best before all of the GM truck assembly plants are back on line and then can get up to speed and that's when there will be more of the 2014 models on sales lots and reasonable ordered trucks build timings. The new 2015 HD models which will be begin build soon will also increase sales also. So many are waiting for the 2015's which will re-define the HD segment. Not my words, but those of the automotive rag publications!
The huge inventory of 2013's GM trucks built before the lines went down one by one for major line revisions and change overs and is virtually exhausted now and are very scarce on most dealer's lots around the country. There will always be a few dealers who are not aggressive etc and will have previous year models on their lots no matter what brand/brands they sell.
Our local small Ram/Chrysler dealer still has 3 new 2012 Dodge Rams left on his lot and we see them nearly every day. Doesn't help that he's a real dingbat to buy from either and that he has a lousy service reputation. Hopefully, he'll go under as he's teetered on insolvency for years now and/or someone better will buy the business and run it right. Local people go out of town to buy their Chrysler/Ram/Fiat controlled vehicles and I sure don't blame them. - 45RicochetExplorerThanks Troy
I just fill in when IB is busy :B
Nice numbers, well except for one :H They must be waiting for the new MY. - hone_eagleExplorerIts possible the sales of the GM twins are being held back a bit because customers are waiting for the other shoe(engine?) to drop plus other rumoured enhancements like power mirrors? suspect continuous improvements all year.
Ford will doing the same with the new F150 . - thomasmnileExplorer

I read somewhere that the average vehicle on the road is 11+ years old.
Seems that a lot of people don't have a choice, it's time for a new vehicle.
CNBC did a report on vehicle sales numbers yesterday. RL Polk apparently tracks vehicle age based on registration data nationwide. The current average age is 11 years and Polk believes this figure will continue to hold true for the next several years. Good news for auto manufacturers, unless they are talking about me. I have a 14 year old Camry and a 9 year old Ram and have no interest in unloading either of 'em for a car payment! Love them 'pink slips'!! :B - lbrjetExplorerThe Ecoboost is a huge winner for Ford. Mind boggling that GM didn't at least match the technology with their new truck line. The sales numbers show GM's huge mistake. Ram has been slowly taking some of GM's clients for a few years straight now. A trend that will continue IMO. Innovation sells.

Over 210,000 trucks in one form or another sold in just one month.
Throw in cars the numbers are boggling.

Nothing's changed! For every one Dodge/Ram 1500-3500 pickup sold, more than 4 either GM or Ford 1500-3500 or 150-350 pickups were sold in the 2013 calendar year. More than a 4 to 1 ratio like it's been for over 50 years now. HO HUM!
Keep a close eye on those numbers, I think that Ram is going to start eating up some of Ford and GM's market share. Ram's quality is improving, their technology is innovative and they have class leading numbers (3500 towing, 1500 mileage with the diesel) - Golden_HVACExplorerLooks like Ford has had it's best year ever for the F-series trucks.
